Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about MyInfoTag — from registration to security to shipping.
Getting Started
MyInfoTag is a physical QR/NFC medical ID tag that links to a secure, comprehensive digital health profile. First responders can scan your tag in an emergency to instantly access your blood type, allergies, medications, emergency contacts, and legal documents — no app required.
Visit myinfotag.com/register-tag, enter your unique tag code (printed on the back of your tag), and follow the setup wizard. You can fill in your profile immediately after registration. The entire process takes less than 15 minutes.
Your MyInfoTag profile can store: blood type, allergies & medications, chronic conditions, emergency contacts (with priority ordering), physician details, legal documents (DNR, Power of Attorney, Living Will), and personal ID information. All sections are optional — add what matters most to you.
The one-time product purchase includes free lifetime access to the MyInfoTag profile platform. There are no monthly fees or subscriptions. You pay once for the physical tag and your digital profile is included forever.
Products & Orders
MyInfoTag is available in three formats: Registration Card (wallet-sized), Helmet Tag (for cyclists and riders), and License Plate Tag (for vehicle identification). Each format features the same QR code technology and lifetime warranty.
Standard shipping takes 5–7 business days. Expedited shipping (2–3 business days) is available at checkout. All orders ship from our Austin, TX fulfillment center and include a tracking number.
Every MyInfoTag includes a lifetime warranty covering manufacturer defects and normal wear. If your tag becomes unreadable, fades, or is damaged under normal use, we will replace it free of charge. The warranty also covers tag loss — contact support with your order number to request a replacement.
Yes! Many customers order tags for their entire family. Each tag has a unique code and links to an individual profile. You can manage all your family's profiles from a single MyInfoTag account. Bulk pricing is available for orders of 10 or more — contact us for a quote.
Security & Privacy
Yes. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard encryption. We are fully GDPR and HIPAA-aligned, never sell your data to third parties, and store files outside the public web directory. You can export or delete all your data at any time from your account settings.
By default, anyone who scans your QR code can view your profile — this is intentional for emergency access. You can add an optional PIN to require a security code before viewing. Your PIN hint (visible without the PIN) helps responders locate the code if needed.
PIN protection lets you add a 4–8 digit security code to your profile. Scanners will see a lock screen and a location hint (e.g., "Check my wallet") to find the PIN. Medical staff and first responders are trained to check common locations. You can enable, change, or disable your PIN anytime from your account.
Go to My Account → Settings → Privacy and select "Request Account Erasure." This permanently deletes all your profile data, uploaded documents, scan history, and account information within 30 days, in compliance with GDPR. Your tag code will be deactivated and cannot be re-registered.
Technical
Any smartphone with a camera can scan your QR code using the native camera app — no special app required. iPhones (iOS 11+) and Android devices (Android 8+) support QR scanning directly from the camera. NFC-enabled tags can also be tapped by NFC-capable phones.
Scanning your QR code requires an internet connection to load your profile page. However, you can optionally download a PDF of your profile to your phone for offline access. We recommend keeping the PDF in your phone's notes app or health app as a backup.
If your tag is lost, contact support to deactivate the code — this prevents anyone from scanning it. We will issue a replacement tag at no charge under the lifetime warranty. If your tag is stolen and you suspect unauthorized access, you can also enable PIN protection or request an account review from support.
First responders with a standard smartphone can scan your tag instantly. For situations where a phone is unavailable, you can print your profile summary and carry it in your wallet alongside your MyInfoTag card. We are also exploring NFC integrations with emergency services equipment for future releases.
